On Saturday I went for a hike with my friend at Greenwood Furnace. It was a beautiful day, sunny and cool, and I felt so much more energetic. Beautiful trails too.
My friend (who knows a lot about the trails in our area) took me on a 3+ hour hike, and she made sure I got a good steep uphill and downhill. I am feeling very comfortable using my new trekking poles. (Komperdell Titanal® Trekking Poles - Compact for Women, in case you are curious. Got them at www.sierratradingpost.com ). They are much lighter than the ones I'd been borrowing, and had more cushy handles and straps.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to strap these suckers onto a CamelBak!
I am so used to not running into any people on the trails, that it was almost a surreal experience when we came across a Penn State bio class out in the woods. My friend's son had taken the class in the past, so she knew what was going on. :)
